Guidance is often required at the time of a person’s passing. We can provide guidance
on the steps required to administer an estate, including an outlining of the roles and
duties of an Estate Trustee. The process can be overwhelming as creditors, family
members, and beneficiaries begin to ask for information.
If there is no valid Will, we can explain the Succession Laws to determine the beneficiaries at law and to determine who has the right to apply for a Certificate of Appointment.
If there is a valid Will, we can assist in interpreting such Will.
We can assist you by explaining the preliminary process of gathering information and safeguarding assets. We can assist with searches to determine whether an Application
for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee is required.
If we determine that a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee, whether with a Will, or without a Will, is required, we will be able to draft and submit all the required documentation to the Superior Court and we will be able to assist you with the completion of forms required by various financial institutions and governmental
agencies.
We can assist with claims for trustee compensation and the passing of accounts
process and with communications with beneficiaries.
